Yeah. You can stop dreaming right now, because according to Epic Games lead designer Cliff Blezsinski, the deal the studio has forged with Microsoft is one that “makes sense”.
Although Gears of War is the third best selling franchise on the Xbox 360, and a leader in the Third Person Shooter genre, the game’s lead designer said that if you read what it looked like on paper, you’d see it was a perfect storm for failure.

The latter’s apparently the case with Gears of War composer, Kevin Riepl. On October 6th he said via tweeter that he thought someone “roofied” him while out drinking. He’d blacked out. “Somethings effed up,” he continued. “Like literally. Something knocked me out.” Days later, Riepl was on life support.
There will come a time in the not so distant future, where gaming consoles will no longer be playable only in the living room or bedroom, but according to Epic Games boss Mark Rein, gamers will be able to carry anywhere the next PlayStation, Xbox and Wii consoles.
Not many new IPs come out and shine the first time around. First, most gamers wouldn’t have heard of it, and even if they did, some rather stay in their comfort zone: “I’ll play what I know,” they say.
That’s why it’s rare developers create new IPs, because they know how expensive it is to first, spend millions to develop the game, then spend even more to get the word out, and finally wait with fingers crossed to see if it’s well received.
