Last year, what you would mostly hear coming from Sony executives concerning its PlayStation brand was “It Only Does Everything”, as the company tried hard to highlight the power and prowess of the PS3 as the only machine that can play Blu-ray movies and video games at the same time, amongst other things. That was a great move because they were trying to sell hardware.
But this year, boasting the most impressive first-party lineup the industry’s ever seen, Sony’s changed its focused to promoting software, ushering in a new round of advertising, and yes, a new slogan: “Only On PlayStation”.
In today’s age of developers wanting to do everything to please their base, games are usually beaten in less than a day. No more are there difficult titles that challenge the gamer to think really hard on what his next decision will be; instead, although entertaining, the experience doesn’t really challenge one’s mind too hard.

That’s unless the game is Demon’s Souls.

But apart from what we’ve mounted, more evidence is always welcomed. And now, courtesy of retailer eStarland (via Examiner), not only does the game exist, there’s a release date and box art as well.
According to Eurogamer, a full blown new Tomb Raider title is already in the works at Crystal Dynamics, and will be out by next Christmas.
Yesterday, at Microsoft’s presser, the software giant revealed that it had signed a deal with Crytek to release a new IP exclusive to the Xbox 360. That game’s dubbed Kingdom.
The first trailer is past the break.
On September 14th in the US and on the 15th in Japan the highly anticipated game and what Microsoft has said will be the biggest game of 2010 will be available for all to play. The beta has now ended but according to Bungie, over 2.70 million people played it.
It’s been on your mind for some time now, but you just can’t seem to come to a definite conclusion. ‘Should I buy one, or should I just wait till later?’, you ask yourself. Well worry no longer my double-minded friend, good things are headed your way, but it’s only if you live in he UK.
