NeoGAF’s leaked an internal Nintendo document showing off for the first time the firm’s new console’s specs, and to be quite honest, that thing is beastly. We kid you not: It’s compatible with GameCube and Wii. Blu-Ray with up to 50GB storage capacity. Hard drive 250-320 capacity and 1080p video output – and that’s just to name a few.
Project Cafe is confirmed. Nintendo flatly said it’ll unveil its latest console at this year’s E3, at its press conference, obviously. But we still don’t know what the new system looks like, although there’s been tons of rumors…. But can this latest video posted below the break be the real thing, showing Nintendo’s Project Cafe in action? I mean, it looks like the real deal.
Nintendo confirmed this morning that it’s official slashed the price of the aging Wii, and beginning of May 15th, the console will cost only $149.99 in the US. That, according to the company’s U.S. head, was “perfect timing”.
It’s on, folks. Nintendo’s now divulged the date and time of its E3 press conference happening in L.A. this June, and there, for sure, we know many things will be unleashed, including the new console that loves coffee.
Super Mario Bros. Boss Shigeru Miyamoto has responded to rumors circulating the internet concerning Nintendo’s new console, saying he’s heard of the “coffee” rumors.
The next batch of consoles is just around the corner, believes Crytek boss Cevat Yerli, and speaking in an interview recently, he told the story of how they’ve been preparing for the moment with CryEngine 3.
Oh boy. Things just went mental. Nintendo’s out for blood, it seems, as the legendary company’s looking to regain the hold it had on the hardcore crowed by introducing the Wii2, and what better way to do that than to bring GTA developer Rockstar on board.
Wii 2, also known as “Project Cafe” is alive and well, it seems, reports are coming which claim Retro Studios, the developer behind Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Metroid Prime are hard at work helming a title for the rumored console that’s more powerful than PS3 and Xbox 360.
And just when you thought the Wii 2 rumors were said and done, more details are erupting like a massive volcano’s about to erupt at E3. What’s hot now? Well details on the console’s specs have emerged, along with its alias – “Project Cafe”.
More past the break.
Whatever Nintendo does has to be revolutionary. Whether it’s the Super Nintendo of old, or its latest console, the Wii – it has to be different. In fact, although you may not like the Wii that much, (I don’t) the console’s changed the game forever, forcing Sony and Microsoft down a route they thought was futile, but now, both Kinect and PS Move are selling millions – thanks to Nintendo.
But the Wii’s lost steam, and analysts have been calling for a new console from the legendary gaming company for months. Will it happen? It’s basically confirmed for an E3 2011 reveal, and as news surface, we’re learning more about the console. We already know it’ll be more powerful than PS3 and Xbox 360, but what we didn’t know is how excited developers who’ve seen it are about the system. I mean, who wouldn’t? The hardware’s spotting an HD screen on its controller. What Nintendo’s forging is “unreal” says one source.
E3 2011, which takes place in just two months, will be another stunner as numerous sources have told GameInformer that Nintendo is set to announce a new console at the show. There are even reports that some third-party partners already have the console as Nintendo tries to get them excited.
The gaming industry’s in a “depression” according to Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot, and the only way to alleviate the situation is for the ‘big three’ to release a new batch of consoles.
Nintendo should have released its Wii 2 since last year says analyst Michael Pachter, adding it’s now too late for the company to make a decent dent in the HD console market, seeing that Sony and Microsoft have the hardcore and online play on lock down.
Yes sir, you read that headline right, according to Metroid Creator Yoshio Sakamoto’s, the next home console from the legendary company will cause the world’s rotation to pause momentarily.
Dear Sony, a note from the wise. When you make a mistake, you learn from it, not act stubborn and repeat the same bad decisions over again like you’re hard of learning. Eventually, your boat will sink; and that’s something none of us would want to happen.
