Thirsty Conversations: Which Gaming Generation Was The Best?

dknew

We’re in the eighth generation of gaming where PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii rule the day. That’s nice and all, but I personally loved the PS2 days more than any other. That was the seventh generation (something about the number 7).

Here’s the deal: which generation was the best? Is it current gen? Was it the 6th generation with PSone, Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo? Or do we go before that when Nintendo and Gameboy existed?

Let’s talk. Do It Here: The Official Games Thirst Conference Room.

I have great memories from all generations. I can’t really pick one… I still play my PSOne, my PS2, my N64, my GameBoy, my SNES, my Master System… I’m always so nostalgic when I look at those consoles and games. Ah, years back, they were the golden ones.

its hard to say a favourite as they are all good, and abviously all different, my first console was a sega master system, soon followed by the Mega drive, in their day these were amazing! and the whole Sega V. Nintendo and Sonic v. Mario thing was great as a ten year old! Games like streets of Rage, mega man, NHL and FIFAs were amazing!!
PSone was where it all changed and the games catalogue were immense! also how can a console that had FFVII not be arguabley the best gen around?!
Games nowadays are much more indepth, obviously there was no save feature on earlier gen so you had to site there for about 5 hours and complete it there and then or else you’d have to start again from the begining the next day! I have to say tho that i play much more gaming now then i ever did, so if i had to choose id say the current gen is the best.

Agreed with your, Okami, those were the golden days indeed. I mean, can you remember how much fun you had staying up all night playing Donkey Kong Country? Goodness, how I long for those days again!

Nice write up, Fox. Nice indeed. This gen is indeed great, but man I miss the old days. And yeah, Final Fantasy VII – that’s all one needs to know. Square-Enix are just failing, if you ask me. Where’s the remake!

    Yes you can! PS4/Xbox720 FTW!

Indeed, Majora’s Mask, or Desert Speedtrap, or The Lucky Dime Caper, or something else. I didn’t understand a word in English back then, so I just played, ignoring anything story related, but now I do understand everything and I’m filled with nostalgia and sadness.

Yes indeed. Some real classics there. So where are you from, Okami?
