Microsoft Announces Forza Horizon, Slated For 2012 Release

forza4again1

After being leaked last Friday, Microsoft’s official confirmed Forza Horizon, a new racing game in the Forza franchise that’s to see a launch later this year, and is being developed by PlayGround Games.

Playground Games is located in Leamington Spa UK and includes the “core group” behind the Codemasters Racing Studio team that worked on establishing series including DiRT and GRID. The studio was founded by ex-Codemasters executives Trevor Williams and Nick Wheelright in 2009 and currently has 106 staff.

It’s been rumored that Forza Horizon is an open-world title a la Test Drive Unlimited, however MS wouldn’t confirmed the talk.

We’ll keep you posted.

i hope it is a mix between TDU and burnout.
the crazy weird stunts of burnout like the massive jumps through billboards, over bridges, and the shortcuts crossed by gates, the crazy events like marked man, road rage, and open world racing as in no closed off tracks find your own way!.
mixed in with the real world setting, car features like flipping up the roof, playing around with the electronics, and the sim based handling.
not too sim, no fun having a track racer set out in a open world but nothing too arcadey like burnout either.
    it is forza after all!
thats pretty much what im expecting from ridge racer unbound, but im not too confident on that.
actually the EB manager from my local store got to try it out a few weeks ago and to say she left deflated would be understatement of the century!
hope it turns out well but its not exactly looking good.

    not if your like me.
    ;)
no seriously allot of people are lactose intolerant so you gotta be really careful with that.
everythings being milked these days though, hey that explains why!
in all seriousness it is getting a little out of hand though.
series are getting shorter and shorter and more and more frequent.
only so much you can change in 2 years!
if turn 10 did forza 4 in 2 years imagine what they could of done with the development time GT5 saw!
