Capcom has announced a new Onimusha title, however it’s one most fans won’t be extremely thrilled about, as it’s a browser-based title dubbed Onimusha Soul. I think I’m crying on the inside while writing this.
If you didn’t know, Onimusha is one of my favorite franchises of all time. The game literally ruled on PS2, so to see Capcom resurrecting the brand in the worst possible way, just brings a nasty taste to my buds. Anyway….
The game is a Sengoku-era strategy RPG effort that will include Onimusha legendary characters like Jubei and Samanosuke.
Get the full thing over at Andrisang. The last console title was released back in 2006.

i just really can’t believe it. i don’t understand the onimusha series was capcom’s fifth best selling franchise of all time and to see them just treat like filth really pisses me off. your right ernice capcom’s moves have been out of touch, they pulled alot of crap this gen but this took the cake. onimusha: warlords was the first game i ever played on the PS2, it was more than enough incentive for me to get a PS2 at launch. CRAPCOM i hate you.

It’s a stupid thing, man. They go and make Asura’s Wrath. Look at how poorly that sold. Man Onimusha would have sold a few million copies. They need not test the waters, they need to fire some execs.
let explain something to you nick, how in the Fu***** hell is this gonna do good when this is practically not onimusha. you honestly think fans are just gonna pick this up and be like “oh this is the onimusha i’ve been waiting for 6 yrs to play” no they’re not.

when your willing to spend 50 million bucks on development, several M on advertising, plus several M on manufacturing and distribution, plus several M on ratings around the world, then you can say that.
