Ninja Theory must be excited about the prospects of their new game. Enslaved: Odyssey To The West hits the U.S. tomorrow and Europe on the 8th of this month, and I can’t begin to imagine how twisted they must feel: Excited and Nervous.
Those mixed emotions are not a result of the lack of development skills, however, because according to studio boss Tameem Antoniades, they’ve been battle scarred and “hardened”. According to him, they “made most of the mistakes [they] had to make during Heavenly Sword”.
Ever wondered how Ninja Theory came up with the idea for their upcoming title Enslaved? Just know this: with every disappointment, there’s a blessing.
Proverbs, you know them: ‘never bite the hands that feed you’, ‘if you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones’ are some of the more recognizable ones.
How about this: ‘never say never’. That’s exactly Ninja Theory’s stance on a Heavenly Sword sequel.
Hope lives on, then.
Before there was Enslaved, you had Heavenly Sword. A game developed by Ninja Theory and owned by Sony. Now, though, the focus is all on Monkey and his companion Trip. According to Ninja Theory, the studio developing the game, Enslaved: Odyssey To The West got a lot right that Heavenly Sword didn’t.
I guess the older you grow the more wisdom and experience you get? All truths are parallel, friends.
If it was left up to Ninja Theory, Heavenly Sword 2 would be a reality, but they can’t do that because Sony owns the IP.
