by Ernice Gilbert on May 30th, 2011, under Hot, Sony

Since Sony blatantly confirmed that it was already working on PS4, gamers have been sharing their opinions on what it would be like, and whether we’re ready for it. But in a rather uncanny move, a Sony representative’s come and to contend the talk, claiming there’s no PS4 in the works, and that NGP is actually Sony’s future platform.

The biggest gaming expo in the world is happening in two weeks time, and there, everything that concerns games will be present. Every single developer in the world that’s worth its salt will be there talking up their offerings. id Software basically invented the FPS genre and they’ll be there showing off RAGE and DOOM 4 – but that’s just for starters. We have the days and times of what’s big at the event below the break.

Breaking – Sony Shuts Down PlayStation Brand, Says Goodbye To Gaming

by Ernice Gilbert on April 1st, 2011, under Hot, News, Sony, Unbelievable

The unexpected has happened. What we never thought would be a story told is being written as we speak. Many will remember this day, the 1st day of April, 2011, as the saddest in gaming history. My friends, Sony’s decided to shut down all things PlayStation, as it says there’s been no profit in it, and has admitted to making a big mistake by including Blu-Ray in launch PS3s.

The company’s giving everyone 3 months to enjoy games on PSN, but has already started shutting down game studios, beginning with SOE.

Developers the world over are pleading with Sony to rethink this decision – even Microsoft’s offered the once electronic giant a loan of $2 billion, yet company exec Kaz Hirai’s said the decision is a final one.

No more PSN, no more game studios, all the PS4 talk has been rubbish, and today, my friends, the industry has lost its greatest company.

Rumor Water – PS3 Games Will Be Ported To NGP

by Ernice Gilbert on April 1st, 2011, under Hot, News, NGP, PS3, Rumor, Sony

How would you like to take your PS3 games along on long rides? I’m sure. Nothing better than piercing lead into Chimera on a long journey, all while sustaining the same fidelity as PS3.

You’ll apparently be able to do just that with Sony’s PSP2 dubbed Next Generation Portable, and if this is indeed true, I see gamers the world over rejoicing.

Weekend Quencher 03/25/11 – A Growing Site, Edition

by Ernice Gilbert on March 25th, 2011, under Other Stuff

If something is well taken care of, it will grow. Look at flowers and how they blossom. Don’t you know it’s because they receive the right amount of water why their leaves are so welcoming? Think of a child. It’s born, and with adequate food it grows into, well, me and you – we were all once children natured by parents, but have grown into men and women (shout out to RabidPrincess!).

I’ve said all this eluding to Games Thirst, the site that you’ve made your home. Josh and I have great news for everyone: we’re making great progress and have added two indelible members to staff.

It’s the weekend, friends, what are you guys up to?

Sony Could Own Mobile Gaming Space With NGP And Experia Play, Says Analyst

by Ernice Gilbert on March 25th, 2011, under Hot, News, Sony

I think it’s safe to say Nintendo’s carved out a demographic for itself that no other gaming company seems to be able to snatch. It’s like the same group of people keep buying the firm’s products over and over to the tune of billions of dollars.

But there’s another group that’s been lacking in the handheld realm, and according to EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich, with NGP and Xperia Play, Sony stands the chance of winning that group, outperforming even Nintendo’s 3DS.

Rumor Water – Ubisoft Sponsored Survey Puts NGP’s Price Between $250 – $350

by Ernice Gilbert on March 16th, 2011, under Hot, News, NGP, Sony

NGP’s arguably the hottest impending handheld in the gaming industry this generation, something that happened ever since Sony unveiled it at a secret Tokyo meeting. They showed us specs, games, apps and more, but one thing Sony hasn’t done is given us a price. Yes, they’ve said it’ll be affordable but for the wearily excited, that’s not enough.

If you’re one of the many (including me) who simply can’t wait for Sony to deliver us its worth, Ubisoft has reportedly sponsored a survey that gives some ideas as to how much the two version will cost.

Everybody Will Be Able To Afford NGP, Says Sony

by Ernice Gilbert on March 11th, 2011, under Hot, News, NGP, Sony

Seems as if Sony’s got the price, a great one, of NGP on lock down, as the firm’s confident enough to say that “everybody” will be able to afford one.

Are They Not Beautiful? These New NGP Images?

by Ernice Gilbert on March 3rd, 2011, under GDC, Hot, News, Sony

I love beautiful women. I think my wife’s the hottest thing since the baking of bread. I also love tech that looks sexy. I mean, I’ll buy a computer with lesser specs compared to another just because the darn thing looks clean, neat….sexy. And now, like a child receiving allowance from his parent for the first time, I’m left giddy by the NGP screens you’ll see past the jump.
