Sony and Nintendo are well known for releasing their consoles in Japan first before any other region, but according to a source closer to Jolt, the console will release in the West first, revealing also four titles that will launch alongside it.

Sony’s E32011 Presser Happens On June 6th, NGP To Take Center Stage
Monday June 6th is when Sony’s E3 2011 press conference will happen, at 5 p.m. PST at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, and on that day we should see some massive announcements.

Although NGP isn’t lacking developer support, with major players like Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Epic Games and more pledging to rally around the portable console, not mentioning first-party devs like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica and Guerrilla Games just to name a few, it’s still good to see more top tier firms join the crowd.

Although no NGP release dates have been announced, the general consensus was the handheld would see a fall launch in the west after being released in Japan a bit earlier. But with the massive earthquake that left certain parts of Japan in shambles, SCEA boss Jack Tretton told Bloomberg that the console might be delayed in certain regions.
