Sony should just give up on Vita already, as day-by-day the chances of it succeeding seem to get worse, especially in Japan.
According to Gamasutra, last week, the Vita hit a new all-time low in the country, selling only 4,021 units. By comparison, the 3DS sold nearly 47 times that many, at 187,077.
The numbers, though grim, don’t paint the full picture: 3DS sales were bolstered significantly by the release of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which debuted at number one on the charts with 721,786 copies sold.
Even so, PS Vita’s outlook isn’t a desirable one in Japan or in the West, where Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified has turned out to be an embarrassment for Activision and Sony alike.
