Nintendo’s new portable console has proven to be a success ever since the price was slashed, and to prove its staying power, the console set an all-time sales record in Japan for the month of December since Enterbrain began tracking sales in 1997.
1,492,931 units were sold in Japan during December, the highest since 1997. The numbers represent sales from November 28th to December 25t. Sony’s PS Vita didn’t even come close, yet it was the second bestselling console for the same month in Japan, shifting 402,794 units since its release on December 17th.
