Games Thirst – Amazing Life
Hey all, this is a personal message from me, Ernice.
As you must have noticed, I’ve been running Games Thirst without any ads on the site, not because I don’t want to, but because these ad placements are hardly worth the effort, as there’s almost no money to be had, especially when you’re getting about 80,000 views a month. Yes, it sounds like a lot but it’s nothing compared to what the big dogs like IGN, Gamespot and the rest get.
Even if we were to include ads on the site in the future, this message is still in order because, like I said, ads, the type where you get paid per view, isn’t a model that’s lucrative for Games Thirst.
But that’s alright! I love our community, and although I love growth, I’ve learned to appreciate what we have here. This is why I’m adding a “donate” icon on the site, where you guys can simply choose to contribute money to help the site stay relevant, and to help me focus on keeping GT awesome!
The dream is still alive, by the way. I’m still in the process of getting investors to partner with me to bring the Games Thirst drink to life, but until such big breakthroughs happen, I’d appreciate your help.
Over the years, it’s been a pleasure and honor serving you with unique GT content and writing, and I look forward to the future!
Bluntly, though, I need your help.
How It Works
Simply put an amount you want to give in the donation bar, and click “donate”. You’ll then be redirected to paypal, where you can complete your donation. I’m also working on others ways of donating for those without a paypal account.
Supporters Recognition Wall
You’ll notice a box above the donate icon that says, “Put my Donation on the Recognition Wall”. If you check the box, your name and donation amount will appear on the Supporters Recognition Wall, situated immediately beneath the comments widget on the sidebar.
Along with your donation amount on the wall, you can leave a comment mentioning why you support, but that’s optional.
There’s no set amount to give or when you should, and I must mention that if you cannot contribute anything, just your presence on Games Thirst is enough. This is for those who can, and are willing to contribute.
