Aliens: Colonial Marines Reviews Are In – Cancel Your Preorder, Don’t Buy It

Such crap. Rumor surfacing now from an ex-Gearbox developer, claims Gearbox did not develop Aliens: Colonial Marines, bar the multiplayer portion of the game. And it’s garbage, apparently, with only the multiplayer portion being worth a go. Reviews inside.

The source, dug up by Superannuation, the info was posted on a forum, stated back in May 2012, “Hate to say it, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up too high for Colonial Marines. I used to work at Gearbox, and the development of that game has been a total train wreck, going on what, 6 years now?

“Gearbox isn’t even making the game, except for the multiplayer. Primary development was outsourced to TimeGate Studios, which has a less than stellar past. I hope it proves me wrong, as I still have alot of friends still working at Gearbox, but I am expecting it to be average at best.”

Quite disappointing if you ask me. The game looked promising.

this sucks first duke nukem, now aliens. why does gearbox keep attaching its name to these games that were in development hell. all they’re doing is ruining their good name. an this is coming from a non-gearbox fan.

Same thing I thought. Why tie your name to this game when you did not develop its whole? Bad for their name indeed. I mean, the single-player portion is the game’s biggest part, yet we hear nothing of the developer that did it…. Only Gearbox…

exactly why ive lost so much respect for them, and especially randy.
puts his face on so many interviews saying blah blah we love this franchise, than lets it out like this.

@nick: Sorry to burst your bubble but did you know that Gearbox are going to make an Untitled Duke Nukem sequel and Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded?
Why can’t they just focus on a new Borderlands for the Vita and PS4.

and what does that have to do with anything?
they can release another DN game, it can be THE best game ever created!
but that does not take away the fact that DNF was one of THE worst games released this gen!
fact of the matter is every single time gearbox puts out a new game randys out there day in day out hailing it as the second coming.
and 2/4 games they have released this gen have sucked donkey balls!
and 2 of those 4 games are 2 of the most hyped, longest developed games in the history of the industry!
so sorry to burst your bubble, but them releasing a new DN, a actually good game, is irrelevant!
