There’s a rumor circulating the internet which claims hackers can access your PSN account by simply using your user ID and date of birth. It was a far fetched rumor indeed, but it’s becoming clearer something’s gone wrong.

It’s the better part of a month since PSN was hacked, yet even after the scandal that rocked the company from the core, with the hack now reported to be the biggest internet breach of security in history, Sony’s still struggling to fully secure its networks.

In fact it’s so bad that a security expert was easily able to find a good amount of security flaws in Sony’s networks, while remotely studying its systems via means of the Internet to see how hard it would be to crack the firm’s systems in light of the recent attacks. Guess what? It was rather easy.

Rumor Water – New Group Planning Fresh Attacks Against Sony

It’s official, these hackers don’t give a crap about us, the gamers. Word has hit the internet via CNET that a new group of hackers are planning a third hit against Sony because, according to the group, it didn’t like the way the firm handled the PlayStation Network breach.

Anonymous To Sony: You Haven’t Seen Nothing Yet

Anonymous have been hitting hard at Sony for the past few days with little success, only managing to take down a few of its websites for a few hours, and sporadic PSN outages. But the group sent out another message today, informing Sony that it would be ignorant to count them out, as they’ve merely been “poking and prodding”.

Anonymous Takes Down PlayStation.com And Sony.com, More Attacks To Come (Update)

Update: Sony’s just tweeted that PSN will be experience downtime throughout the day because of the hackers attack, saying downtime will be rather sporadic:

“PSN currently undergoing sporadic maintenance. Access to the PSN may be interrupted throughout the day. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Original Story: As promised via a threatening message today, hacker group Anonymous have taken down two of Sony’s flagship sites: PlayStation.com and Sony.com. The PSN site’s also giving problems with the hackers claiming that PSN, and other Sony sites coming next.

Things just got nasty.
