God of War III is now available and fans around the world are enjoying the title, slaying gods as we speak. It’s a great game according to review scores but some folks are more interested in how well the game does at retail, one of them being the it’s creator, David Jaffe.

It’s been three years since development of God of War III commenced, but now, in less than 24 hours, the game millions have been impatiently awaiting arrives in the US.

God of War III Director, Stig Asmussen has told Destructoid that Santa Monica’s latest effort in the franchise only uses between 50 and 60 percent of PS3’s power.
You’d think after 3 long years of laboring tirelessly to release one of the best gaming experiences ever created, that God of War III devs would take a break. They’re not; in fact Sony Santa Monica already has two projects in the works.
It’s been said time and time again: when next Tuesday arrives, planet earth will plunge into chaos. God of War III has been hailed as the best looking game of all time, one with the biggest opening set piece of all time and now it’s reeking havoc on Amazon’s best sellers list.

EA’s Dante’s Inferno has borrowed heavily from God of War III, and it’s flattering, but at the end of the day the studio believes it’s about “outdoing themselves” rather than looking outside.

For many gamers, Sony Santa Monica are already the best at what they do. Indeed, the God of War franchise stand leaps and bounds against its closest competitors in many ways, including sheer size and scale. But if you were to ask God of War III director, Stig Asmussen about the studio’s position in the industry, his answer would be somewhat humble. Confident but humble.
God of War III lands on planet earth, on March 16th in the US, 19th in the UK and on the 25th in Japan.
