In the NPD’s October sales results, the firm noted the Xbox 360 as the best-selling console of said month, with 3DS coming in second. The NPD also noted that both consoles saw increases of over 20 percent compared to the same period last year. However the firm made no mention of PS3, leading most to believe the console didn’t perform exceptionally well last month, even after the recent price cut.
Sony’s given its side of story:
“PlayStation 3 is primed for a great holiday season as this month’s NPD report shows. We’re seeing increased momentum in our 1st and 3rd-party software sales at retail, which are up 5% over last year, and we’re demonstrating the industry’s strongest software line up with blockbusters like UNCHARTED 3, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Battlefield 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and new Move titles Everybody Dance and Carnival Island.
On the digital front, we are also pleased to report that inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood is the fastest selling PS3 digital game ever launched on PSN.”

I wish all this NPD crap would cease. Sony lost in US because they didnt come out first, and arent cheaper. But yeah,world wide sales…a different story. Bottom line is who the devil cares because Nintendo kicked the hell out of everyone this generation, and now they pockets are turned inside out.

one thing ill never understand about $ony is, well, why are they showing off adds for assassins creed revelations, a third party game which is not due out for another 2 days, but uncharted 3 a first party game, a game thats been out for 10 days now has ZERO ads!?

I think the console which launches first will be the winner. Whether it’s Wii U, Xbox whatever, or PS4.
