Just when you thought military shooters were loosing steam, Homefront, a game that scored less than stellar reviews, baffles the market by selling an impressive 850,000 copies in its first week on sale.

Wow, who would have thought Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty title would out pace Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2? Not many. But not only has the game done the very thing, even in Japan it’s proving to be popular, selling 128,922 copies in launch week.

What!? A U.S. made game, a shooter at that, sells almost 130,000 copies in its first week on sale in the orient? Times are changing.

New Xbox Live Update Allows For 1000 Friends (Update)

UPDATE: Apparently, there won’t be no Xbox Live friends list increase in the next Xbox 360 dashboard update, Xbox front man Major Nelson sent that rumor straight to hell.

“Let me straighten things out: We will not be expanding the friends list as a part of the next Xbox LIVE Update,” he said via twitter.
