Forget E3 in June, GameInformer Magazine is rumoring that Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox 720 will get their reveals in March, near the time of the Game Developers Conference. The magazine also suggests that PS4 will be released before Xbox 720. The full quencher’s below the break.
The conferences have been chosen by the two firms ahead of E3 to give their respective consoles special limelight, instead of the crowded E3 affair.That being said, E3 2013 will still be exciting, as most of the new games for PS4 and Xbox 720 will be revealed then.
The Gist Of It
We hear that both Sony and Microsoft are targeting special Apple-style press conferences to unveil their platforms near the Game Developers Conference in late March.
E3 in June may be the industry’s biggest event, but both companies want to give their systems their own limelight.
That doesn’t mean E3 won’t be without its surprises. Next-gen games will be announced at the convention in preparation for the systems’ release at the end of the year.
The magazine aslo suggested that Sony is eyeing an early release ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox 720, as the firm’s leery of what happened with PS3, when the console released a full year later than Xbox 360.

march sounds about right, theres just not enough time to announce new systems, new features, new games, in a 1 or so hour press conference E3 allows!
MUCH better off announcing it beforehand giving developers a little extra leeway to finish up demos to show at E3.
as for the ps4 releasing before the 720 i seriously doubt it.
M$ has had a extra year to work on it, there in a MUCH better financial position than $onys in, they havent wasted half their R&D time developing a portable console, ect, ect.
not to mention the 720 is suppose to be FAR more powerful!
8GB of RAM apposed to 4, a OCTA CPU appose to a quad, ect, ect.
plus M$ seem allot more ready than $ony do.
i wouldent be surprised to see $ony announce the ps4 in feb though, at the same event they held for the vita.
$ony being a japanese company after all.
