While rumor is hot concerning Microsoft and its next-generation Xbox, with many pinning a reveal for E32012, Sony France boss Philippe Cardon has admitted that the firm might be the last company to enter the fray with PS4.
That’s what Cardon said in an interview with Le Point, citing less pressure to introduce a new system than its competitors as the reason.
Meanwhile, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan has previously stated that it would be “undesirable to be significantly later than the competition” in launching PS4.

i wouldent be surprised if they are.
firstly because they have the smallest incentive to do so, they really dont need a new system like M$ and ninty do.
secondly because there always the most ambitious, and thus always cause themselves headaches that take forever to solve.
releasing last wont hurt them too much as long as they dont repeat their same mistakes as last time and go with really new weird architecture it takes developers 3 years to learn!
as long as they dont change things too much, releasing last should not be too much of a problem.
Sony should stick with the current tech but simply upgrade it. Why? Because mostly all devs now handle the PS3′s build with ease…don’t go giving them another tough learning curve.
no they should go to P7 architecture, same crap the 360 and PC uses.
not only to make ports a breeze, but its actually had much higher advancements then cell has since the ps3 released.
high end P7 tech is about 3 times more powerful then cell, a hell of allot cheaper, smaller, and more power efficient.
cell was like HD DVD, extremely wasteful which is why it lost the race to bluray.
only reason cell survived was because it was the highest tech, now its not so going back to it would be like going back to VHS!
