Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told CNN that Wii U’s version of Black Ops 2 looks dramatically better on his company’s new console than it does PS3 and Xbox 360.
“The specs are quite different than the competitive systems, much more graphically intensive,” Reggie told CNN. “If you do a side-by-side comparison you would actually see that third-party games like Call of Duty look dramatically better on our system.”
Reggie’s claim, however, contradict’s Digital Foundry’s analysis of the game on Wii U, who claim that the Wii U version of Black Ops 2 suffers from “some serious issues”.
“The Wii U version matches the look of the Xbox 360 game and thus gives it an edge visually over the PlayStation 3 release, but unfortunately it comes up well short in terms of performance,” Digital Foundry claims, “an aspect that is all-important to the playability of a COD title.”
Their’s been reports concerning other Wii U games as well, and the song seems to be universal: Wii U ports suffer with performance issues.
As for getting left behind once Sony and Microsoft unveil their new consoles, Reggie says, “we’ll see”.
