Konami offering replacements for Xbox 360 Silent Hill HD Collection owners

A post on Konami’s official Facebook page says that the company is now offering a replacement game for those who purchased the game prior to a specific date, and from renowed retailers, and only if they still have their receipt. The announcement reads:

Attention Silent Hill fans:

If you purchased Silent Hill HD Collection for the Xbox 360 new and from a recognized retailer, and still have the original receipt, please send your receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and further details on how to exchange your product. This offer is only valid for Silent Hill HD Collection (XBOX 360 sku) games purchased on or before 08.08.2012. All requests must be made in writing and submitted on or before 10.07.2012 and is subject to availability. Any inquiries received after this date will not fall under this exchange program.

Note: The patch for Silent Hill: Downpour for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is still currently in development and scheduled for release at a later date.

In case you’re wondering why this is happening, Konami said they wouldn’t release a patch that would fix some strong issues the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill HD Collection has.

    Lol, well it’s nice that they are giving out replacements… But with the stipulations I wonder how many people will actually do it.

    nice that there doing it, but something tells me there doing it because their lawyers went psst you might want to do this to avoid a few lawsuits!

    I know I always keep my receipt, and 9/10 times I buy brand new, to support the developers and to make sure I get everything in a brand new condition, with the privilege of getting a refund or a replacement if it’s not that way. If threw away their receipts or anything, guess it’s their fault. You never do that.
