Crytek’s Crysis 3 topped the UK charts this week, with Metal Gear Rising coming in a close second, however no game managed to outdo Aliens: Colonial Marines opening week, a worrying sign that neither title performed exceptionally well.
As for sales breakdown, Crysis 3 sold 57 percent on Xbox 360, while Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance saw 61 percent of its sales on PS3. 5,500 units separated Crysis 3 from Metal Gear Rising, with the former benefiting from PC sales.
Meanwhile, FIFA 13 managed third place, while Call of Duty: Black Ops II holds strong in fourth. Elsewhere, Aliens: Colonial Marines saw an 81 percent decrease in sales following last week’s performance, a testament to the game’s rubbish status and the current now melee with Gearbox. Apparently Gearbox did Sega really bad with this, as it’s alleged that the firm used money Sega provided to developer Aliens: Colonial Marines to push development of the uber-successful Borderlands, and, get this, to a certain extent, Duke Nukem Forever.
Sega, it is said, is now weighing legal action.
