When Grand Theft Auto 5 was announced, only two systems were named as release platforms: PS3 and Xbox 360. But if Rockstar sees fit, the hotly-anticipated title will also be released on Wii U, and that’s talk Nintendo loves hearing.
“Everything else is up for consideration. That’s all I can give you,” Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser told IGN, discussing why the game hasn’t been confirmed for release on either PC or Wii U.
He added:
The main thing is we are not… we are a third-party publisher. We’re not Nintendo, we’re not Sony, we’re not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there’s the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that’s on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be.
I think that’s the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don’t make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.
Nintendo Of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime loves such talk, telling MTV that, “In the end, it is Nintendo’s responsibility to have a large installed base, to have development tools that help the developers and publishers create great content, and essentially create an environment where teams like Rockstar can bring their very best content to our platform, and if we do that hopefully the very best content throughout the entire industry will show up on Wii U.”

Coming 2014. XD
its not on release for PC because R* is so embarrassed how petty school students have upstaged them at their own job!
GTAIV PC released a MESS!
it was crysis times 1000!
it was so poorly optimized you had to break into the CIA, take over the FBI and use both of their computational power just to run the game!
than a bunch of uni students released a few mods that optimized the game and added extra content, so not only was it easier to run but it also looked allot better!
and the rest is history, i dont even need to get into the icenhancer mods.
uni students made R* look like incompetent lazy bums, thats why V wont release on PC!
as for wiiu well i cant see it happening.
multiple reasons, 1 devs are starting to complain about the systems CPU, exactly what i said a few weeks ago i can see next gen systems going to weaker processors in favor of a more beefy GPU, thats just the way silicon and bang for the dollar has gone the past few years.
2nd reason theere wont be many people buying the wiiu, so would it justify the development costs?
even if ninty helped out with funding, and published the game, i cant see ninty doing that and even if they did i cant see R* seeing it worthwhile.
3 put frankly R* has better things to be doing than wasting their time porting a game over, even if they were to part it off to another company.
