Co-founder of Quantic Dream David Cage has said he’s open to becoming a first-party studio under Sony’s worldwide family.
Cage revealed his heart when he told IGN that they were “open to all options, but again, we’re not a studio driven by money”.
He continued: “It’s an important element, of course, but it’s not like ‘Tell me how much money you give me and I’m going to do whatever you want.’
But what matters to us is, ‘what is the project, what is the long-term vision, do we share common vision for the studio?’ We’re really passionate, it’s not just me, there’s a team behind me that’s incredibly talented and passionate about what we’re doing, what could be the vision for the studio. And if all this makes sense, then yeah, why not joint Sony or another partner. We’re open to all options.”
First-party or not, though, the firm’s exclusive to PS3 and Sony for the foreseeable future.
“We are exclusive to Sony right now, so no, we work only on PlayStation 3.”
A few days ago Cage showed Quantic Dream’s latest tech demo at GDC, wowing crowds all over.
Thanks, VG247.

i hope they do. sony made a big mistake not buying insomniac, lets hope they don’t let quantic slip away
Indeed, and by the look of things, it seems as if Cage and his team would leap for joy at the offer. I hope the Sony execs heard this. Such an amazing studio, QD.
they dident make a mistake, insomniac never wanted to become first party.
i hope they dont go first party, if they do it just takes too much of their freedom away.
id rather them stay independent that way they work on what they want to work on, not what $ony wants them to work on.
fun fact: actually insomniac was open to becoming first party, same way quantic dream is.
since when?
every time they were asked about it they always said we want to stay independent.
they actually said that was the reason why they went with EA for their next game, out of all the publishers they spoke with EA were the only ones willing to let insomniac own the rights to whatever they create.
going first party means kissing all that goodbye!
