Analyst: Modern Warfare 3 Preorders Now At 9 Million

Modern Warfare 3 preorder numbers have shattered all records set before it by any other Call of Duty game, or any entertainment form, and that’s even before it releases all over the world tomorrow.

That’s according to analyst Atul Bagga of Lazard Capital Markets. The analyst base his numbers on retail inquiries made last week, concluding the game now sits at 9 million preordered.

For comparison, that’s a 70 percent jump from Modern Warfare 2, and 55 percent over Black Ops.

On the sales front, Modern Warfare 2 sold 22 million units, while Black Ops has sold over 25 million units worldwide.

Modern Warfare 3 goes on sale tomorrow all over the world.

Crazy numbers. Are you among the throng? I know I am. Our review should be up early Thursday morning, but it could go live before then. Keep checking here.

Thanks, Gamespot.

i ended up picking up my new headsets today, jesus freaking christ they sound good!
guy at JB gave me a copy of this for free too which was nice.
i just still cant get over how good they sound, i mean my ears are still ringing!
its amazing how much you dont notice when playing through crappy speakers.
like the bullets whizzing by you, the clang sound of shell casings hitting the flour, and the real thud you get when pounding into your enemy.
god i gotta hook these up to my PC and see how BF3 sounds!
