Modern Warfare 3 Expected To Sell 12 Million Week One

Think 3.5 million units from Battlefield 3 is insane? That’s kids stuff.

According to VGChartz, Modern Warfare 3 is expected to sell a disorientating 12 million copies across platforms when it is released on November 8th.

“EA will have to be happy with 2nd and 3rd highest debuts this year,” reads the post, “however, as Activision plan to release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in a couple of weeks, a title which is expected to top a mammoth 12 million units in its first week.”

That’s no small number. If it does happen, Modern Warfare 3 will become the biggest entertainment launch of all time, topping yet another Call of Duty title: Black Ops, a game that’s gone on to sell over 25 million units, and is still one of the best selling games of 2011, although it was released last year.

Amazing.
