In December, GT5 Sold 560.5K In The U.S.

Gran Turismo 5 is the biggest and best racing sim on the market, and according to many, it’s in a class of its own. Well last December, the game again proved its appeal, because after Sony had already announced 5.5 million copies of the game was sold, another 560.5K more flew off store shelves.

That takes the tally to over 6 million units sold worldwide.

This comes to us via the NPD Group, and it just goes to prove the power of the Gran Turismo franchise.

There’s one thing for sure, fans can expect the series to live on into many generations, because time and time again, it’s proven to be the best selling PlayStation exclusive to date.

Polyphony Digital must be proud.

GT still remaining sonys strongest seller!
wonder if the ps3s going to have any more system sellers like this.
i doubt we will see a GT6 this gen, the only game that normally sells on GTs scale is MGS but that looks to be going MP.

Uncharted is coming around. I think the third installment will sell around 7 million. Then the fourth will go mental.

nah, ill be seriously surprised if that gets to 4.
i cant see any more ps3 exclusives having the sales GT5 is having, unless we get a new MGS exclusive which i doubt.
unless syphon filter 5 or a new medievil releases, or if ND actually decide to release a new crash bandicoot game.
but we all know there never going to happen.
    :(
