Last week it was rumored that Sony had sent out a message to developers informing them the PlayStation Store would reopen today, however the rumor was false, as the firm’s confirmed there’ll be no store reopening today, even as the network on a whole undergoes maintenance.
If all goes well, the PlayStation Store should reopen for business this coming Tuesday, May 24th, according to a memo sent to Sony’s game developer and publishing partners.

But even before the network was hacked forcing Sony to take it down for the better part of a month, there were many users who simply never logged in because they never felt the need to. Believe it or not, millions of PS3 owners refuse to play games online for whatever reason, but all that is changing and working in Sony’s favor, as the company unveiled its “welcome back” package.
