Crysis Working “Radical” Fourth Crysis, Won’t Call It ‘Crysis 4′

Crysis 3 isn’t even out yet, but already Crytek boss Cevat Yerli has revealed what’s in store beyond the upcoming game for the franchise. It’s essentially Crysis 4 on next-gen systems, but Crytek won’t call it that, as it’ll be “radically different”.

“[Crysis 3] is the end of the story of Crysis,” Yerli told Eurogamer, “but it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the franchise.

We are excited about the DNA of Crysis and of the franchise. There can be literally tonnes of titles out there within the franchise. Unlike Far Cry, this time around we feel very flexible about Crysis.”

He added:

I wouldn’t name it Crysis 4 at this stage because it would be misleading. We want to finalise Prophet’s story and Crysis 4 would imply the story just moves on.

Normally in this time right now we would already have pre-production going on, but because we want to make this something much more radical and new we are looking at it as a bit more of a long term thing. It’s too early to talk about it for these reasons.

well, at least they have the respect not to slap a well known franchises name on it in the sake of sales!
ironic considering 50 bucks says they will pick EA for the publisher, or maybe thats why its not called crysis?
id love to see them do a just cause styled game, but set in a tropical city.
GTA meets the story and character driven aspect of mafia, meets the tropical environment and crazy fun just cause is known for.
    now that would be sweet!
