PlayStation: The Official Magazine Will See Its End This Year

One of gaming’s most beloved magazines will see its end this year.

The magazine’s publisher, Future US, will end PTOM’s run late this year, with the last issue coming holiday 2012.

“Future US can confirm it will end production of PlayStation: The Official Magazine with the last issue slated for the Holiday 2012 issue,” Future US said through a representative.

I have fond memories of the mag, so I know I’ll personally miss it. Some of Games Thirst coolest stories came through the mag, but I guess it was time to shut down. It’s hard to keep magazines alive in the age of the internet.

Best of luck to all the employees.

we’ll probably see an online version of it. but it is sad to see these companies stray away from traditional publication

not exactly surprising considering the content was always late, and its ridiculous price tag!
here at least its THREE times the price of a gameinformer mag, 15 compared to 5, and gameinformer has more pages, more content, and they normally have better previews and more current reviews.
for instance a friend bought me mays issue for PTOM just after i came out of hospital and they had a review for twisted metal.
    WTF!?
whats a review for a march game doing in a may issue?
KZ3 was even worse that came out 4 months late if i remember right.
so yea not surprised to see it go, in fact im surprised and saddened it took so long!

personally this mag should be intergrated into the ps4 online infrastructure.
