Splash Damage wants to put color back in the FPS, because according to the dev, we’ve had enough of the “gloominess”.
“It is time to put colours back in first person shooters,” Splash Damage art boss Oliver Leonardi told IGN.
“Of course, by the time you finish making this kind of bold statement there are other people that might release games doing the same thing! Yes, it’s true, I wanted to fight gloominess and blandness as I truly think we had enough of that, but I wanted it to fit within Brink’s context.
The Ark is a floating island sitting in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The place is flooded with light, the ocean around acts like a giant mirror adding even more light, and this light then bounces everywhere, making bright colours bleed.”

Brink’s out in the U.S. next week, and hits U.K and Europe on Friday.
