Respawn’s New Game Is An FPS, It Seems

respawn_entertaiment

Although Jason West and Vince Zampella’s new studio hasn’t official announced the title it’s working on, nor the genre it’s in, the development house has somewhat confirmed that the game will indeed be a first-person shooter.

It’s a field they’re well versed in, since almost all the people who make up Respawn Entertainment helped create the Modern Warfare brand that’s become ubiquitous with gaming today.

The tidbit comes to us in a response Respawn Entertainment gave to one of its fans on twitter, who asked:

Do you guys have a timetable for when your shooter will be out?

Respawn replied:

We do, but we can’t discuss it just yet!

That seems like a confirmation to me, wouldn’t you agree? All we’ve had so far are two blurry images that give no clues as to what the studio is up to.

Now, though, we know it’s a shooter of some kind.

@Grim i just wish developers would stop making sooo many FPS like we already have enough of those. can’t they make like a third person stealth game or something instead of following the trends of the FPS.

But the thing is there are also a lot of 3P games too. GOW Judgment, Splinter Cell, The Last Of Us, so many more. I guess that we just have an over-saturation of games.

    dude, thats a extreme stretch!
just because they did not decline the comment that its a shooter does not mean its a shooter.
