This comes as somewhat a surprise, as Killzone 3′s still about two weeks out. Nonetheless the reviews for Guerrilla Games latest effort is out, and the consensus confirms what I suspected from miles away: Killzone 3 is one of the best shooters ever forged. A must buy, then.

“Killzone 3 is as close to perfect as online shooters get, and I do not say that lightly. The single-player could still use a little bit of work, but its faults pale in comparison to the amount of entertainment that the multiplayer provides, not to mention that the story mode itself really provides some greatness when it needs to. I don’t think the PlayStation 3 has ever had quite such a rounded, satisfactory package as this, with this level of polish, refinement and pure, simple, unpretentious action.”

So they’re complaining about the story, but yet Call of Duty games have the worst stories of all time? It’s the reason I don’t trust these reviews! Good one Destructoid.

I totally agree. It will always be like that though. COD will probably always get high scores and have stupid stories with graphics that are not even that good. I am about tire of reviews from most places. I wait for game informer and that is about it. IGN gave it a 7 in presentation and gave COD BO a 9 or 9.5, and stated that COD had an amazing story that was delivered in an innovative way. Well it was done in flash backs, and i can name a few stories that does that and one that is a better game called Black that was on the original xbox. I was expecting this though.
Yeah. I don’t trust IGN at all.. It’s like they’re set on scoring all XBox 360 and Multiplat big games higher than that of the PS3. I mean, they even did that with MASS EFFECT!!!!! The same game, with better graphics and added content, YET THEY SCORE IT LOWER!!
Mass Effect 2 I meant. It’s a shame what this generation has turned into….. Damn shame.
I know and look at Halo Reach. I am huge Halo fan and have even read the books, but they ruined Reach. The campaign was boring and super repetitive, but they gave a great score just because it is halo. If bungie use the story for Reach from the book, it would have been much better. Oh well, I am getting this and I was really surprised by what gametrailers gave it.
Yeah, Game Trailers gave it a big score so that’s good – and also well deserving. Because Game Trailers know that there’s nothing like it out there. NOTHING. It puns all else. But like you said, I’ll be getting this on day one so screw IGN and all the rest…. Sorry. I’m somewhat pissed.
me too. I stopped fully trusting them after the God of War 3 review when they gave the presentation for that game a lower score than cod. I trust Game Informer and that is all. I do disagree sometimes, but that will happen, but overall, I trust them.
Well I should give GI a look then. And I can’t wait to get my reviews here early. You guys should work on that.

have people completley forgotten how to review games!?
2 of the biggest additions to the game, move support and 3D and they get maybe 3 word description out of a 6 minute video review?
all they did was discuss the story, weapons and graphics, thats the only things in the game?
what about the level design?
sound design?
boss battles?
one of the biggest issues with KZ2 was the gameplay and level design, they were so repetitive, mission 1 felt the same to almost every other mission in the game!
has that changed?
another thing allot of people missed is the boss battles, there were not enough, so has that changed?
even the jetpacks, do they fit in the game well, do they feel like they should be there, or just tacked on for the sake of it?
i swear to god, these have to be the worst put together reviews i have ever seen!!!!!
if your going to do a review on something you need to review EVERYTHING not half of it!
though im expecting more of the same, the typical sit in this corridor and kill 100 enemies, move forward, rinse and repeat.
GG said they have opened up the levels allot so you have more combat choices, but those videos told me the complete opposite!!!!!
this is looking to be another game where its bark is worse than its bite, all show and no go.
I’m in the beta now, getting geared for tonight. It’s the best looking shooter I’ve ever seen. Plays extremely well too. Those reviews? I have no idea where the coming from, the ones that gave the game low marks. Or gave COD higher marks than this.

keep on getting the game host is unavailable message too, than i get booted out of the game.
im done with this, i have better things to do than spend half a hour raking up the kills, building points than to have them lost because of unreliable servers!
I’m enjoying it
I absolutely love the game. I could not stop playing last night, and sadly I will not be on tonight. I forgot that I am going to visit my parents and will not have my ps3. I will be on tomorrow night though. It is really fun, and it is the same beta.
