Even before Dante’s Inferno came out many gamers labeled it as a God of War ripoff, but that didn’t stop EA from moving forward and delivering what, in many eyes, was a great game. Maybe not God of War III status but a well made game indeed.
It went and sale and sold decently, and if this job listing on Gamasutra (via Superannuation) is to be believed, EA has set its eyes on a sequel. Yes, you might be on the war path all over again my friends.
According to the listing, the studio’s working on “the sequel to a major new IP at the award-winning Visceral Games, creators of Dead Space and Dante’s Inferno.”
If indeed it turns out to be Dante’s Inferno 2, it would be a move away from what Jonathan Knight, Dante’s Inferno producer said some time back: “I’ve read the entire divine comedy and I’ve given it some thought, but there are no plans,” he uttered back in February.
We’ll keep you posted as more information comes to the forefront.
