PC Reviews For Battlefield 3 Are Bombing The Internet

Be advised, if you follow the link below the break, you’ll catch a ton load of Battlefield 3 PC reviews with lofty scores. And although some of the sites claim that the single-player campaign is forgettable and suffers some issues, the multiplayer, most say, is memorable.

IGN 9/10: “Battlefield 3′s campaign does hit some memorable moments (especially in the graphics department), but as a whole it’s trite and frustrating. The campaign jams Battlefield 3′s multiplayer into a linear box where freedom of choice gets thrown out a non-destructible window. There are only a few buildings to blow holes in, barely any vehicles to take the wheel of, and quicktime events adorn enemy encounters in almost every level. While you can literally crash a helicopter on an opponent’s head while parachuting to safety if you so choose in multiplayer, campaign makes you hit spacebar at just the right moment to avoid getting punched — they’re two different games.

When you shut down Battlefield 3 and let the Frostbite 2-powered dust settle, it certainly has some problems. But DICE’s adoration of and expertise with the online experience permeates every aspect of its multiplayer. Regardless of the narrative missteps or the occasional glitches, Battlefield 3 offers an unforgettable, world-class multiplayer suite that’s sure to excite shooter fans, whether they fired their first bullet in Battlefield 1942 or have just now heeded Battlefield’s call of duty.”

Joystiq 4.5/5: “It’s not revolutionary, but it’s the best Battlefield game, and that’s saying a lot.”

GameTrailers 9.2/10: “A stellar multiplayer suite with practically limitless replay value and a mostly forgettable campaign.”

1UP A-: “The single-player and co-op campaigns both have their issues, but the multiplayer component is worth the price of entry alone.”

GameSpy 5/5: “There’s simply no other shooter that lets you wage war on a scale this huge, but even better is the infinite number of satisfying ways to lay the hurt down on your opponents.”

Everyeye.it 9.2/10: “This is war. This is what we FPS fans have longed for for years.”

BigPond Gamearena: 9.5/10 “If it’s the best multiplayer game in the world that you’re after, get your affairs in order. You’re re-enlisting soldier.”

Game Informer 9.5/10: “The only downside to Battlefield 3 is the lack of substantial changes to the multiplayer formula. However, that shouldn’t stop longtime fans and newcomers from enjoying one of the best FPS experiences in gaming.”

Joystiq 4.5/5: “It’s not revolutionary, but it’s the best Battlefield game, and that’s saying a lot.”

AusGamers 9.8/10: “A game that’s finally worth upgrading for and I dare say it carries with it a potential for a renaissance of the PC first person shooter.”

SpazioGames 93: “The true strength of DICE’s new title is its multiplayer component: massive battles, vehicles, destruction and an exceptional overall polish of Frostbite 2 offer an incredible piece of entertainment and raise the bar for online competition.”

IGN spoke of a day 1 patch that has to be released before they can review the console, does that mean the PC version did not need a patch ?

@ttbounty: the same thought came to me. It seems as if the console version is the problem, that is why it’s so critical gamers wait for some verdicts.

from what ive seen its not as open as what i was expecting but its still a heck of allot more free and varied then other war games!
only thing im disappointed in is destruction.
come on DICE are the salters of destruction!
BC came out and let you blow holes in whatever you wanted!
then RFG came out and brought destruction to a whole new level.
then RFA came out and took it again that bit further.
now this comes out and its barley got half as much destruction as bad company let alone RFA!
come on DICE, why bust down a door when you can bust in through the roof?
we NEED to see some proper battlefield destruction back!
