Heavy Rain was a success both critically and commercially for both Sony and Quantic Dream. Obviously the developer now has the go ahead to work on whatever they like, and according to company boss, David Cage, they’re now working on two new projects.
And as for Heavy Rain fans, they’ll be surprised.

Cliff Bleszinski has said time and time again that he really loves Heavy Rain. The developer has gone as far as to say “[Heavy Rain] has created a new genre.” But there are certain elements in the game he thinks could have been down better.
Especially the way the children in the game act, according to Bleszinski, David Cage and his Quantic Dream team didn’t do enough to avoid the “uncanny valley”.

Gamers are a demanding crowd. Year after year developers work hard, harder than most other forms of entertainment to bring us what we want. For some reason we the gamers pay no mind to what goes on behind the scenes; all we’re interesting in is everything, and I mean everything being perfect. That’s a tall order considering how much effort, research, brainstorming and the likes that goes into making a great game.
But when last did we pause for a moment and really think about how much we take these developers for granted? And the thing is they never complain. Well I believe there’s a time for everything under the sun; and today I ask you to join me in saluting your favorite development team.
Do it after the read in the comments section but right now, we honor them:

You enjoyed the game which, many would argue, was basically an interactive movie. So I’m almost certain that fans of the critically acclaimed title will support the movie, pending it’s done correctly.

A lot of important people are talking about the positive impact Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain is having on the industry, and how it’s good that gamers have appreciated something that’s radically different from most of the games we play.

When David Cage and his studio, Quantic Dream joined with Sony some four years ago to create a new experience never seen in the gaming industry before, they knew the risk was high.

It must be a good day for David Cage where ever he is right now. I reckon, whatever might be going wrong is nothing compared to the joy of seeing his ground breaking, $20 million risk-taking game, Heavy Rain find success around the world. Must be extremely fulfilling.

There’s an avid Xbox supporter name Peter Molyneux, he adores natal and thinks Xbox 360 is THE console. These days however, the man find himself giving Heavy praise to a Heavy game exclusive to Sony’s PS3. Molyneux went as far as telling Joystiq the game is “absolutely brilliant” and that gamers who want to see a glimpse of the future should go out and “buy” Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain came out yesterday exclusively for PS3 and now gamers the world over are experience what took Quantic Dream and Sony years to complete. And although we’ve had mostly positive reports, with gamers hailing it as an accomplishment like none other, there are a few who haven’t turned out too healthy after playing the game.

Today, yes today’s the day many gamers will experience Heavy Rain; Sony and Quantic Dream’s risk of a game. The hardware giant spent over $20 million to bring the possibility into actuality, and today it could be your reality.
Didn’t that sound good? No? Jump past the break.

Sony and Quantic Dream has now gone full steam on the advertising side of things promoting Heavy Rain to the max. In it, Samuel L. Jackson amongst other stars answers the game’s main question, “how far would you go for love”?
It’s after the break.

Some thought it might flop, ‘it’s too risky, too different’ they’d utter but look at it now. Heavy Rain isn’t even out yet and it’s ruling the charts.

David Cage, Quantic Dream boss has said that there will be an announcement from his studio “in the coming weeks” concerning PS3 Arc and possible Heavy Rain support.

Never judge a book by its cover. Never turn down food before it’s properly cooked, also don’t you give up on a story before you arrive to the end, and when someone tells you ‘it can’t be done’, just think of Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream managed to pull off what most developers wouldn’t dare try: A $20 million risk of a game, and now it seems they have the last laugh yet again.
