Heavy Rain Reaches 3 Million Sold Worldwide

Quantic Dream’s co-founder Guillaume de Fondaumière has revealed that Heaven Rain, the much-lauded PS3 exclusive has sold over 3 million units since going on sale in 2010.

    LOL…not even 4% of PS3 owners bought the game. Sony fanboys love to talk/brag about exclusives…but they rarely get around to actually buying them.

    well considering the fact that PS3 has a wider variety of exclusives and the 360 at this point has no exclusives outside of the halos, fables, forzas, & gears. i’d say 3 million sold is pretty good.

    So you’re blaming the 360 for the pathetic sales of a PS3 exclusive? That would be the logical deduction from your post, since there’s no real correlation between the 2 AT ALL. Besides, outside of GT5 and Naughty Dog’s games, most PS3 exclusives have sold pathetically. When you have “a wider variety of exclusives”, they can’t all be considered niche, as an excuse for poor sales. Killzone and Resistance sure as hell aren’t niche, and neither is God of War…yet all of them failed to even break 5 million each…most barely 1/2 that much.

    it’s called market share you dimwit. when a company release a multitude of exclusive games with them all being about one or a couple months apart from each not every gamer is gonna go out an buy every single exclusive game they have interest in for their preferred platform. they are gonna pick an choose which out of the bunch they’re more interested an skip out on the others. an who said i was blaming the 360 for sales of PS3 exclusives? if anything you could have assumed i meant microsoft was smart for releasing their exclusives with wider time gap between each other. an since when in the hell was 3 million in sales pathetic especially for the type of game heavy rain is? the only thing thats pathetic is you coming to articles bitching about the sales, worried about what other people use their money to buy. get a life

    Those games were not released in the same at the same time. Fact is, COD and Battlefield both sell better on PS3 than any of those games.

    And the reason those numbers are pathetic, is because every PS3 owner fanboy, like yourself, loves to talk about all of the Sony exclusives. Every single time gameplay is shown for a new one is announced….trailer shown…whatever, it’s “Day 1…great to be PS3 gamer” or “Best graphics ever…Day 1 !!!” or “Best developer ever”…etc. If ANY of that were true, a higher percentage of PS3 owners would actually buy those games. 3 million IS in fact pathetic for HR , because that was one such game that all PS3 fanboys loved to brag about, and talk like Cage was a gaming god…yet only 4%
    of PS3 owners bought it.

    my god are you remedial??? when did i say that the games you mentioned came out around the same time. i was referring to exclusives you didn’t mention. if this is how you xbox fanboys are who can’t read between the lines and you cherry pick certain quotes an try to use it as an argument then your just as pathetic as i thought you were. an i don’t what you talking about as far as fanboy goes because i’m far from a fanboy asswipe. i don’t let morons like you or allegiances to companies dictate what the hell i buy with my hard earned money. an so what only 4% of PS3 owners bought heavy rain? both quantic dream & sony both acknowledge that heavy rain sold incredibly well in multiple articles. i actually bought heavy rain the first day it came out and enjoyed the 60 dollars i payed for it. an no where in my mind was i thinking “oh man what if other people who have a PS3 don’t buy this game” like i said get a life.

    Games released in “one or a couple months apart from each other” is essentially in the same release window. But that’s a moot point, since we’re talking about SALES TO DATE, and not just launch window sales. Maybe Ken Kutaragi had it right…Sony fans should get a 2nd job. I’ve never had a problem buying the games that I want, regardless of release date. I’ve got a great job, pay my bills , and buy what I want, when I want. I’ve purchased over 500 games this generation alone (360 + PS3)….and yes, I HAVE purchased the major Sony exclusives.

    BTW, Sony also released public statements lauding the “success” of PS Vita….doesn’t make it true. :)
