The Last of Us Having Auto-Save Problems (Update)

The Last of Us Having Auto-Save Problems (Update)

Update: The problem has been fixed. Naughty Dog confirmed it via Facebook. Original Story: Gamers who picked up their The Last of Us copies today are reporting serious auto-save problems with the game. Basically the game never actually saves when you hit the save icon, causing some gamers to lose progress. A very distressing situation.

The problem apparently has something to do with its day one patch version 1.01, as well as its connection to the PSN. While none of this has been confirmed yet, it appears that staying offline while playing does the trick. For some people, staying offline with the patch installed solves the problem. Others stayed offline and deleted the patch to get auto-save to work.

Other reports are claiming that you can’t manually save once the auto-save glitch starts.

We’ll update this post once Naughty Dog issues a statement.
