Illumiroom Isn’t Ready For Primetime, Microsoft Says

Microsoft has confirmed that the Illumiroom won’t be ready in time to be released in tandem with the next Xbox, however a demo will go public in July.

During an interview with Engadget, Hrvoje Benko and Brett Jones said that while they have Illumiroom technology working well at this point, they’re not likely to even demo it to the public until July at Siggraph.

And that’s it. Maybe in the future, then. Maybe in 2014? Because I must admit that the tech is really intriguing, and we wouldn’t want it to simply be an experiment that vanished with time.
