Watch Dogs Confirmed For A 2013 Launch, Ubisoft Hints Next-Gen Console Release

Ubisoft’s confirmed that its E3 stunner Watch Dogs will be released in 2013, possibly on PS4 and Xbox 720 alongside current-gen consoles and PC.

The publisher confirmed the date when pushed by a user for one: “The game will be released in 2013 and will be on released on PC and consoles,” Ubisoft said through Watch Dogs’ official twitter.

You’ll also notice that Ubisoft is choosing its words carefully by not mentioning any particular console like PS3 or Xbox 360 but rather vaguely mentioning the word “consoles”. Meaning the game could also be released on next generation platforms.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft left room for a Wii U version of the game.

“Not at this time,” the firm told IGN when asked about a Wii U version of Watch Dogs. “We have so many titles in development for Wii U right now that we need to keep that team focused and this is a very very ambitious game. But it’s not out of the question.”
