Starhawk Goes Gold

Starhawk has gone gold, folks, which means the game has officially been sent out to be mass-produced in an outer-world factory. Seriously. Anyhow, Lightbox Interactive is giving gifts to all those who participated in the game’s beta, details of which can be found here.

The PS3 exclusive launches May 8th in the U.S. and on the 9th of the same month in Europe.

    i REALLY hope the developers really get behind this!
    $ony had some AWESOME MP games such as resistance, killzone, socom, MAG, uncharted.
    MAG has to be my favourite simply because it was such a ambitious game and had such a unique feel to it.
    but all failled and flopped.
    why?
    because the developers did not support them!
    companies are coming out screaming our games so good its going to knock COD off its thrown!
    and it doesnt.
    it flops!
    why?
    not because they were inferior games, almost all of them were HEAPS better!
    but because they were not supported!
    look at halo, look at gears, look at COD, the 3 biggest MP games this generation!
    there up there because the developers are constantly interacting with their community!
    they constantly have game with the dev nights, they constantly have double xp events, they constantly have challenges, they constantly have DLC, they constantly have patches.
    you need the developers under the game supporting it every single day hopping online and interacting with their fans, having a few games with them and working on feedback.
    thats why so many online games these days end up flopping and a year after release are a ghost town!
    KZ3 a prime example!
    out of all the ps3 exclusives besides MAG it has by far the best MP!
    but it flopped.
    why?
    again, lack of support!
    its received so few DLC, such few community events, so few interaction from the developers.
    i really hope lightbox understands this and spends the next few years on nothing but content for starhawk!
    its such a awesome game, i never enjoy MP but i had a blast with the beta!
    i REALLY want to see this succeed, i really want this to be $onys new SOCOM.
    it can be, it SHOULD be its such a awesome game!
    BUT it wont be unless the developers get behind it and support it, spend all your time on nothing but making starhawk the go to game for multiplayer on the ps3!
    please lightbox, please dont make the same mistake so many developers have!

    Good points, but what I hope is that Sony ADVERTISE the game, or else it’ll fail.
