Sony To Ship 700,000 PS Vitas On Day One In Japan

Sony’s upped the amount of PS Vita units that will be available in Japan when the console launches tomorrow, boosting stuck by adding 200,000 more consoles.

That’s because of greater than expected demand for the machine, according to a report on Andriasang.

We’re expecting Vita to do extremely well in all regions as gamers looking for a truly portable next-gen experience gravitate towards the console. See its vast lineup of games here.

It goes on sale February 22nd in the west.

hope they can keep up with the supply and demand, i remember when the PSP and ps3 came out allot of stores near me were sold out for 6 months!
same as the wii, i remember a friend of mine wanted to buy one so they put his name down not for the next shipment, but for the 4th!
thats how much backlog there was.
