PS Vita’s Launch Lineup Unvealed

Sony’s unveiled the games lineup for PS Vita before the console sees a launch on February 22nd in the west. Catch the full list below.

Some recognizable titles include Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048 and ModNation Racers: Road Trip.

PS Vita’s lineup is “one of the best launch line ups of any games console, ever launched,” reckons Sony exec Michael Denny.

“We’re counting down the days to the launch of PS Vita. This launch is something we are all so excited about at PlayStation as that’s when we can see PS Vita where it was made to be – in the hands of gamers,” he added.

PS Vita can read up to six cards at once over a much larger play area, beating Nintendo’s 3DS by miles as it only supports a single-card AR. The portable console also features Facebook, Skype, Foursquare, Flickr and Twitter applications, and Sony’s own new geo-based social plaything Near.

I planned to purchase the vita on launch day, but knowing sony the psvita slim will launch 3-6 months later with improved hardware and a decent game library, that lineup is not worth the 250 dollars for the handheld just yet, maybe until street fighter X tekken and KOF XIII come out.

huh, what happened to LBP?
i was really hoping it would be a launch title, but it looks like its not.

vitality is the new MK games name, i wonder if this is what ed boon was teasing.
yea he said its not MK related, but maybe he meant its not MK related as in the reboot, as in the new vita game was going to be revealed.

i new the leaked screenshots a few months ago were not fake!
interesting to see what its like though.
if its like the reboot a strict 2D, or if it goes back to the 3D roots.
i hope its based off deception, id be a kid in a candy store if it is!
or even better a new game like shaolin monks.

not having LBP as a launch title is REALLY going to hurt them!
one of the very few titles at launch which utilizes all of the vitas features.
and its such a loved series, and a title for all ages.
the most important launch title they could of had, especially because of the level generation tools.

wish we could trade wipeout, MNR and motorstorm for this!

i really like the line up but cant help feel that its all a waste of money, why would anyone qant to buy a hand held nowadays with the power of smart phones? id rather just play free games on my free phone thanks than spend hundreds of pounds on something that ill probably lose or break pissed up!

because smartphones just cant deliver the experience dedicated gaming devices can.
i love my ipad and iphone to death, they have some awesome games on them!
but that said, the quality and depth of the games is no where near what hand helds offer!
not to mention the controls being touch screen only get really finicky.
9MM for example, one of the best IOS games out there!
but nothing compared to some of the shooters available for consoles.
yea, uncharted will help but it wont have as much a effect as LBP would.
LBP caters to many more people then what uncharted would.
simply because theres not a million 2D platformers out there, but theres a million shooters out there.
and LBP is a all ages game where uncharted is not.
also LBP uses full use of the vitas capabilities, touch screen, rear touch screen, gyroscope, everything.
uncharted does not use the rear touch pad, and only uses gyro for grenades.
just does not have the flexibility LBP has, and because of that i cant see it being the system seller LBP would be.
its a shame they dont have NG as a launch title too, they really need a hack and slash action game as a launch title!

Hey Ernice nice to see the site got a new look, pretty cool I have to say.

I got to play the Vita on E3 this past july, it looked decent for a handheld, the one I played did not have the uncharted game, two vita’s on the right to me did have it and I couldn’t play it, instead I just played around with a texture demo of a ball you could move with the touchpad in the back, it was fairly entertaining for the first 2 minutes, after that it was pointless to keep at it.

I also remember seeing LBP advertised in the lineup and did not remembered until I saw the previous posts.

Sony will obviously want a LBP for the vita, even if it hasn’t been announced, wouldn’t surprise me if they released an infamous, God of War and Metal Gear too.
