Halo Reach Championship – Update

HRC Logo

The holiday season is upon us and as always has given us the most overpopulated release window of the year. With huge titles such as Gears Of War 3, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 and of course Modern Warfare 3 finally in the hands of gamers, it is understandable that copies of Halo: Reach have been put back into their cases in homes across the world. As a result our Halo Reach Championship has taken a recent hit in popularity in both views and entries. It is very likely that this current dip in popularity may only be temporary but the championship simply can’t continue as it is.

As we simply don’t have enough people entering the championship to maintain weekly matches the unfortunate outcome is that we have to end the championship, for now at least. This was not a decision I took likely but is one thats simply unavoidable. This is however not the end of tournament gameplay on Games Thirst. The HRC will likely make return in the future and a Halo 4 Championship is almost a given. You won’t have to wait until then though. Matthew DeVito is currently working on a new championship for a certain popular warfare game that will boast a new tournament hub on the site. It’s a sad goodbye to something that many people enjoyed watching and taking part in but don’t worry, there’s a brighter future for competitive gaming on Games Thirst.

Thanks to everything who helped with the championship and everyone who competed. Want to check back on any matches that you missed then see everything bellow.

So sad to see a successful tournament go, but, what we have in store is going to be big!
