Despite Steam Integration, Portal 2 Xbox 360 Outselling PS3 Version

It’s been revealed that Portal 2 Xbox 360 has been dominating the game’s sales, leading the way with a respectable 54% while PS3 lags behind, accounting for only 35% in the UK.

Obviously, the advantage goes to 360 because of the PSN outage that’s kept a generation of gamers who’ve become used to playing multiplayer, offline for the better part of a week. That being said, with the Xbox 360 install base in the UK being bigger than the PS3′s, I’d still expect more units to be moved on Microsoft’s console.

Why is this news, you ask? Well Valve has flatly proclaimed the PS3 version of Portal as superior on consoles, especially with Steam integration. The story might be different elsewhere and maybe even in the U.S., because if Amazon is any indication, the PS3 version of the game might win in the end….sales-wise.

That, however, depends on how long PSN stays offline. Read our Portal 2 review here.

    I don’t get it.
Spend x amount of cash, get the 360 version.
Or spend the exact same amount of cash, get the ps3 and pc version.
Sounds like a no brainer to me!

Yeah, but maybe the PSN outage played a role.

U can still play online just use the pc version you got for free!
Can’t remember if u need to sign into both PSN and steam or just steam to redeem your PC code.
Just seems stupid to me, get 2 for the price of one.
Or get one for the price of one.
I wish more developers would do this!
And next time let us copy our saves cross platform.
Pc portal and ps3 portal saves dont work with each other.
