Xbox Dashboard Testers Receive Beta Discs

by Ernice Gilbert on April 12th, 2011, under Hot, Microsoft, News, Xbox 360, Xbox Live

Microsoft’s already sending out discs to Xbox Dashboard beta testers, and also included in the package is a copy of Halo: Reach.

Kotaku’s reporting that a stern warning is attached to the package against sharing the disc.

Also, trying to use the promo copies of Halo: Reach in an Xbox 360 which is not yet registered for the beta program will ostensibly block the console from Xbox Live until the update officially launches.

What Microsoft is asking of beta testers is to use the disc, and then play other games, and thereafter report any problems that arise as a result.

Material sent along with the package eludes to a new update delivery system, but Xbox 360 usually receives updates via new game discs, so something else might be cooking.

We’ll wait and see what exactly.

Thanks, CVG.
