PS3 And PSP Included In An Ad Firm’s “top four connected devices” Report, 360 Nowhere To Be Found

by Ernice Gilbert on October 20th, 2010, under News, Sony

Apparently, the PS3 and PSP are connected to the internet way more than the Xbox 360, with the iPad and iPod Touch amongst the top devices.

This according to a Millennial Media report.

The firm’s figures are based on data captured in this year’s third quarter.

Those numbers must be good news to Sony, especially as the firm tries to boosts its online offerings, specifically it’s new PlayStation Plus service.

In early September, Kaz Hirai claimed that 80 percent of PS3s were connected to the internet, compared to Xbox Live’s 23 million users as of January 2010.

By doing the math, it would seem, according to Hirai, that 30.48 million PS3s are connected to PSN. If true, that’s not a bad number at all.

not surprising considering most 360s dont have inbuilt WIFI, and 99% of online activity is spent online gaming where PSN is free but you have to pay if you want to online game on XBLA.
