Tomorrow, Medal of Honor 2010 comes out. Gamers from all corners are awaiting the shooter’s arrival, with tens of thousands stopping at various retail outlets at 12:00am tonight to be part of one of the many midnight launch parties. EA must be proud; the franchise that seemingly went dead over the years, has apparently regained its former glory, with analyst predicting millions in sales.
But although it might sell millions, Activison shouldn’t be threatened, not one bit. This according to Analyst Colin Sebastian, who believes the Activision shooter, Black Ops, will sell three times as much.
“Importantly, given the broader interest and timing with gift purchases, we expect Call of Duty will still sell at least 3x the number of units as Medal of Honor, although game reviews remain a key variable in determining core gamer interest,” he said.
The analyst backs up his prediction by citing the new record Black Ops realized at GameStop, setting an all time high for videogame pre-orders.
We’ll see what happens.
