We’ve reported on this already, but since it’s rather big news, posting it up for those who weren’t aware was the decision made.
At TGS, in Sony’s presser, Tecmo Koei announced Dynasty Warriors 7 as a PS3 exclusive game.
Will said exclusivity be for Japan only, or is it a worldwide deal? We have no idea yet. Tecmo Koei promised to release more information on October 26th, however, so expect more information then.
Interesting move by Tecmo, there. The game needs a revival, and Tecmo might be looking to do exactly that with the latest game. But why a PS3 exclusive? Shouldn’t the publisher try to reach a broader audience with a game that hasn’t been a top seller?
Then again, this could be Japan only so Xbox 360 owners shouldn’t get all worked up yet. We’ll keep our ears open.
i was never really a dynasty warriors. but i would think it’s only exclusive in japan. since right now ps3 is the top selling hd console as of this year. there wouldn’t be no point of putting it on xbox there is barely a market for it in japan as it is. promoting and distributing it for xbox, tecmo probably wouldn’t get a profit from it.
yeah, your point makes sense, it would not be a smart move if is applied to the west also.
@Ernice Gilbert, yeah your right since ps3 and xbox are almost side to side in sales, it wouldn’t be smart move to just release it on the ps3 in the west. unless tecmo has something in store for dynasty warriors maybe they want to try to push boundaries of dynasty warrior game by utilizing the ps3′s power. but like you said we wont know till october. these japanese developers always have to make everything a secret.
