According to id Software boss, John Carmack, there will be no new Intellectual Properties (IP) from them for “at least a decade”.
He said this while speaking to PlayStation: The Official Magazine.
“We do already have more IPs than we can exploit,” the boss said. “I doubt we’re going to do another IP. It’s scary to say it, but maybe not in the next decade even, because we want to support Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake – and hopefully we can add Rage onto that – and I don’t want five teams here. Three is scary enough.”
“Obviously if Rage is a success then we’ll want to do a Rage 2. If people love it, you want to give them more of it.”

RAGE wont be out till next year so theres a year eaten up, DOOM 4 will probably take 2 years to release so theres 3 and QUAKE 4 will take another 4 so theres 7 gone.
than maybe a RAGE sequel.
3 IPs is plenty for them, id love to see a new wolfenstein game BUT made by them not the crap raven software released!
but after Quake 4, by far the best game ID makes!
i enjoyed doom 3, but quakes always been my favorite.
